Tunnel Plugs

A tunnel plug is a hollow plug with an open centre — for a different feeling and easy temperature play.

Every plug here is rated by its Coyscore, our category-aware trust score built from thousands of real reviews across the web — weighted for a safe flared base, body-safe material and a smooth hollow channel. Tunnel Plugs: your questions, answered

choosingHow do I choose a tunnel plug?
Look at the outer size, the base and the channel. Pick an outer width you can relax into with a secure flared base, and a smooth, well-finished hollow centre. Silicone tunnel plugs are soft and beginner-kind; steel and glass are firmer. The Coyscore weights base safety, material and comfort from real reviews.
comparisonTunnel plug vs. solid plug — what's the difference?
A tunnel plug is hollow through the middle, while a solid plug is filled. The hollow centre feels different, allows some airflow or temperature play, and gives an open sensation, but it can feel softer and flex more. Most people try a solid plug first, then explore a tunnel plug later.
safetyIs the flared base still essential on a tunnel plug?
Yes — a flared base is essential on any anal toy, hollow or not, because it stops the plug slipping in too far to retrieve. Choose a tunnel plug with a base clearly wider than the body, in non-porous silicone, steel or glass, and rinse the channel thoroughly after use.
beginnersAre tunnel plugs good for beginners?
They're usually a step up rather than a first plug. Because the hollow shape feels different and some are on the larger side, most people start with a small solid plug and move to a tunnel plug once comfortable. If you're brand new, a training kit builds you up gently.
careHow do I clean a tunnel plug?
Pay special attention to the hollow channel. Wash with warm water and toy cleaner before and after every use, running water right through the centre, then air-dry fully inside and out. Non-porous silicone, steel and glass clean up completely. Keep it anal-only and store it separately from other toys.
deliveryIs delivery discreet?
Always — every order ships in plain, unbranded packaging with a discreet billing descriptor, so nothing on the parcel or your statement gives it away. We ship NZ-wide with free shipping over $150. We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges, whether or not it's been opened, but we'll always put a fault right.

Buying guide

How to choose a tunnel plug

Tunnel plugs trade a solid core for a hollow centre — a different feel that's usually a step beyond your first plug. Here's what the Coyscore weighs and what to check.

Coy buying-guide card — “Outer size and the hollow channel”

1. Outer size and the hollow channel

Judge a tunnel plug by its outer width first — that's what you feel on insertion — then the channel. A smooth, well-finished hollow centre is more comfortable and easier to clean. Softer silicone flexes and forgives; steel and glass hold their shape.

  • Pick an outer width you can relax into
  • A smooth, well-finished channel is easier to clean
  • Silicone flexes; steel and glass stay firm
Coy buying-guide card — “The base still keeps you safe”

2. The base still keeps you safe

Hollow or solid, the flared base is the safety feature that stops a plug travelling too far to retrieve. Choose a base clearly wider than the plug's body, and treat a tunnel plug as a progression from a solid one rather than a first try.

  • A flared base is essential on every anal toy
  • Build up from a solid plug before going hollow
  • Choose a base clearly wider than the body
The Coyscore ring at 82 out of 100 with sub-bars for body-safe, base safety and comfort

3. Lube, cleaning and the Coyscore

Use plenty of thick water-based lube, and rinse right through the channel afterwards. The Coyscore weights base safety, material quality and comfort, drawn from thousands of real cross-web reviews rather than our own stars — so you can see what owners actually found.

  • Use plenty of thick water-based lube
  • Rinse the hollow channel right through when cleaning
