Ticklers & Feathers: your questions, answered

choosingHow do I choose a tickler or feather?
Choose by the sensation you want: soft feathers give the lightest, most ticklish stroke, while silicone or fur tips feel plusher and more sensual. Check the handle is comfortable to hold and the tips are well-attached so they don't shed. Longer wands reach more of the body. The Coyscore weights softness, build quality and feel from real reviews.
comparisonFeather tickler vs wartenberg wheel — what's the difference?
A feather tickler gives the softest, most playful sensation and suits absolutely everyone. A wartenberg (pinwheel) rolls tiny points across the skin for a sharper, tingly, more intense feel. Ticklers are pure gentle tease; pinwheels edge toward sensation play. Start with a feather tickler, then add a pinwheel if you crave more intensity.
beginnersAre ticklers good for beginners?
Absolutely — ticklers and feathers are the gentlest, lowest-risk way to explore sensation play, perfect for a first toe in the water. Try slow strokes across the arms, back and thighs, and pair them with a blindfold to heighten every touch. Agree a safe word if things get intense. The beginner-friendly tag flags the softest wands.
safetyIs sensation play with ticklers safe?
Yes — ticklers and feathers are among the lowest-risk toys, but a few habits keep it fun. Agree a safe word, since intense tickling can become overwhelming for some people, and avoid the eyes and any broken skin. Keep tips clean to protect sensitive areas, and stop the moment your partner asks. Gentle and consensual is the whole point.
careHow do I clean and store a tickler?
Care depends on the tip: wipe silicone ticklers with warm soapy water or toy cleaner, and spot-clean feathers gently, letting them air-dry fully so they keep their shape. Store feathers upright or hanging so the plumes don't crush, and keep everything dry and dust-free. A little care stops shedding and keeps the softness.
deliveryIs delivery discreet, and can I return a tickler?
Always — ticklers and feathers ship in plain, unbranded packaging with a discreet billing descriptor, and NZ shipping is free over $150. We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges, whether or not it's been opened, but we'll always put a fault right.

Buying guide

How to choose a tickler or feather

The best tickler feels irresistibly soft, holds together without shedding, and is comfortable to hold for a slow tease. Three things guide the pick: the tip, the build, and how you'll play.

Coy buying-guide card — “Choose your sensation”

1. Choose your sensation

Soft feathers give the lightest, most ticklish stroke; silicone-tendril and fur ticklers feel plusher and more sensual. Some wands pair a feather at one end with a firmer tip at the other, so you can switch from tease to a sharper touch.

  • Feathers: the lightest, most ticklish stroke
  • Silicone or fur tips: plush and sensual
  • Dual-ended wands switch tease for intensity

2. Build quality that won't shed

A comfortable handle and securely-set tips are what separate a keeper from a mess of loose feathers. Reviewers most often praise well-glued plumes and a balanced wand, and complain when cheap ticklers shed on first use.

  • A comfortable handle for slow, easy strokes
  • Securely-set tips that resist shedding
  • Longer wands reach more of the body

3. Heighten it and keep it kind

Ticklers are gentle by nature, so pair them with a blindfold to amplify every stroke, keep the tips clean, and agree a safe word if the tickling gets intense. The Coyscore weights softness, build quality and feel from thousands of real reviews.
