Pumps (For Her): your questions, answered

choosingHow do I choose a clitoral or nipple pump?
Prioritise gentle, controllable suction over raw power. Look for a pump with an easy-release valve or a squeeze bulb so you can build and drop pressure slowly, plus a body-safe silicone cup sized to the area. Manual pumps give you fine control; automatic ones add convenience and often rhythmic modes. Start small rather than reaching for the biggest cup.
comparisonManual vs. automatic pumps — which should I get?
It depends on how much control you want. Manual pumps use a squeeze bulb or plunger, so you set the suction by hand and can release it instantly — great for beginners learning what feels good. Automatic pumps apply and vary suction at the press of a button, often with rhythmic modes, trading some fine control for hands-free convenience.
safetyAre pumps safe to use, and how do I avoid overdoing it?
Used gently, body-safe pumps are fine, but suction is powerful, so start low and go slow. Build pressure gradually, keep sessions short, and release immediately if you feel pain, pinching or numbness rather than a pleasant fullness. Choose a body-safe silicone cup, avoid broken skin, and don't use pumps if you bruise very easily or take blood thinners without advice.
beginnersAre pumps good for beginners?
Yes, if you start gently. A manual pump with a squeeze bulb is the friendliest first choice because you control the suction by hand and can release it instantly. Begin with light pressure and short sessions, and pair it with a little water-based lube to seal the cup comfortably. Effects are temporary, so there's no need to push for more.
careHow do I clean and store a pump?
Wash the cup and any removable parts after every use with warm water and a fragrance-free toy cleaner or mild soap, then let everything air-dry fully before storing. Keep the tubing and valve dry to stop residue building up. Store in the pouch provided, somewhere cool and dry, and check seals and cups for cracks that would weaken suction.
deliveryIs delivery discreet, and can I return a pump?
Always discreet — plain, unbranded NZ packaging and a low-key billing descriptor, with free shipping over $150. We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges, whether or not it's been opened. If a pump arrives faulty, damaged or losing suction out of the box, get in touch and we'll make it right.

Buying guide

How to choose and use a pump

Gentle, controllable suction and a comfortable cup matter far more than maximum power. Here's what the Coyscore weighs across pumps for her, and what to check yourself.

Coy buying-guide card — “Control matters more than power”

1. Control matters more than power

The best pumps let you build and release suction smoothly — look for an easy-release valve or a squeeze bulb, and a body-safe silicone cup sized to the clitoris or nipple. Manual pumps give fine, hands-on control; automatic ones add rhythmic modes and convenience if you'd rather go hands-free.

  • Easy-release valve or squeeze bulb for safe control
  • Body-safe silicone cup, sized to the area
  • Manual for control, automatic for convenience
Coy buying-guide card — “Start low and go slow”

2. Start low and go slow

Suction is stronger than it looks, so begin with light pressure and short sessions, building up only as it stays comfortable. A little water-based lube helps the cup seal. Release straight away if you feel pinching, pain or numbness — the aim is a pleasant fullness, never discomfort.

  • Begin with light pressure, build up gradually
  • Use water-based lube to seal the cup
  • Release immediately if it pinches or hurts
Coy buying-guide card — “Keep expectations realistic”

3. Keep expectations realistic

Pumps create a temporary swell and heightened sensitivity rather than any lasting change, and that's exactly the appeal in the moment. Pairing a pump with an arousal gel can amp up the effect. Clean the cup and valve after every use so suction stays reliable session after session.

  • Effects are temporary and sensation-focused
  • Pair with an arousal gel for more intensity
  • The Coyscore weights comfort, control and materials
