Position Enhancers: your questions, answered

choosingHow do we choose a position enhancer?
Start with the problem you're solving — a wedge or ramp lifts and angles the hips, a cushion adds soft support, and a strap or handle helps with grip and reach. Then think about firmness and size for your bodies and bed. Look for a firm foam core and a removable, wipe-clean cover, which the Coyscore weights.
comparisonWedge vs. ramp vs. inflatable — which support is right?
A wedge is a small, versatile lift for hips or back; a ramp is larger and steeper for fuller support and more dramatic angles; an inflatable does a similar job but deflates for easy storage and travel. Choose a wedge for subtle everyday help, a ramp for support and angle, and inflatable if space is tight.
beginnersDo position enhancers help if we're not very flexible?
Yes — that's exactly what they're for. Supports take the strain off backs, hips and knees, so comfortable positions stay comfortable for longer and more of them become easy. Start with a simple wedge, which is the most versatile and least intimidating, and add firmer or larger support later if you want more lift.
safetyAre position enhancers body-safe and easy to keep clean?
The supports here use body-safe foam or PVC with removable, wipe-clean or machine-washable covers, so they stay hygienic between uses. Check the weight rating suits both partners, and choose a firm core that won't collapse mid-use. Listings flag any strong new-foam smell, which airs out in a day or two.
valueHow much should we spend on a position enhancer?
Mid-range is worth it here, because a firm foam core and a durable, washable cover are what separate a lasting support from one that flattens in a month. Expect $50–$150 for a quality wedge or ramp. Cheap versions compress fast and lose their angle. The Coyscore flags which hold their shape over time.
deliveryIs delivery discreet, and can we return a position enhancer?
Always — every order ships in plain, unbranded packaging with a discreet billing descriptor, and NZ shipping is free over $150. We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges, whether or not it's been opened. Anything faulty we'll always make right, and larger items are packed to arrive protected.

Buying guide

How to choose a position enhancer

The right support makes comfortable positions effortless and opens up new ones. Here's what to weigh — the type of support, firmness and hygiene, and getting the size right for your bodies.

Coy buying-guide card — “Match the support to the goal”

1. Match the support to the goal

Different supports solve different problems. A wedge gives a subtle lift, a ramp adds fuller support and steeper angles, and straps or handles help with grip and reach. Decide what you want easier — height, angle or leverage — and pick the shape that delivers it.

  • Wedge for a subtle, versatile lift
  • Ramp for fuller support and angle
  • Straps and handles for grip and reach

2. Prioritise firmness and clean covers

Two things reviewers mention most are firmness and cleaning. A firm foam core holds its shape and support far longer than soft filling, and a removable, wipe-clean or washable cover keeps everything hygienic. The Coyscore weights both directly from real cross-web reviews, so a higher score does the vetting for you.

  • Removable, wipe-clean or washable cover

3. Get the size right for you

Bigger isn't always better — an oversized ramp can be awkward on a small bed, while a too-small wedge won't give enough lift. Check the dimensions against your space, confirm the weight rating suits both partners, and consider an inflatable if storage is tight.
