It's possible the cylinder size is not the right fit for your dick or it could be the rubber at the point of entry.
My personal experience involved a battery operated one. It's more painful than pleasurable and I don't find anything erotic about it at all. Also, with the battery ones you have to be REALLY careful not to get your nuts sucked into the tube. I learned that the hard way.
