Dildos: your questions, answered

choosingHow do I choose a dildo?
Start with three things: size (length and girth), material (body-safe silicone or glass), and whether you want a suction-cup base for hands-free or harness play. The Coyscore blends real-world reviews on all three, so each product's Coyscore surfaces the shapes and sizes people rate most.
comparisonSilicone vs. glass dildo — what's the difference?
Silicone is soft, flexible, and warms to body temperature, so it feels lifelike and forgiving; glass is firm, non-porous, and holds temperature for warm or cool play. Silicone suits realistic, everyday use, while glass suits firm pressure, precise G-spot angles, and easy cleaning.
beginnersWhat size dildo is best for beginners?
Beginners are usually most comfortable starting slim and shorter, then sizing up later if they want more. Flexible silicone is far more forgiving than firm glass at first, a slight curve helps with angles, and generous water-based lube makes the single biggest difference to how comfortable it feels.
safetyAre your dildos body-safe, and what materials are safest?
Non-porous materials — medical-grade silicone, borosilicate glass, and stainless steel — are the body-safe choices, because they don't trap bacteria and can be thoroughly cleaned. Everything tagged Body-safe is verified against the manufacturer sheet; porous TPE or jelly is flagged, since it can't be fully sanitised.
careHow do I clean and store a dildo?
Wash it with warm water and toy cleaner before and after every use; non-porous silicone and glass can also be boiled or wiped with mild soap. Air-dry fully, then store silicone separately in a pouch. Use water-based lube — silicone lube can damage silicone toys.
deliveryIs delivery discreet, and can I return a dildo?
Always — every order ships in plain, unbranded packaging with a discreet billing descriptor, and NZ delivery is free over $150. We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges, whether or not it's been opened, but we'll always put a fault right.

Buying guide

How to choose a dildo

Size, material, and base are the three decisions that matter. Here's what the Coyscore weighs — and how to pick a shape you'll actually reach for.

Coy buying-guide card — “Get the size and shape right”

1. Get the size and shape right

Length, girth, and curve change the experience more than anything else. If you're new, start slimmer and work up; if you want G-spot or P-spot contact, look for a defined upward curve. Be honest about comfort over ambition — the right fit gets used.

  • Start slim if you're new, size up later
  • A curved shaft targets the G-spot or P-spot
  • Girth is usually felt more than length

2. Choose your material

Body-safe comes down to non-porous surfaces. Silicone is soft and lifelike; glass and steel are firm, temperature-responsive, and effortless to clean. The Coyscore folds in thousands of reviews on how each material actually holds up, so you're not guessing from the product photo.

  • Silicone: soft, flexible, warms to the body
  • Glass & steel: firm, non-porous, temperature-play friendly
  • We flag any porous TPE or jelly rather than hiding it
Coy buying-guide card — “Think about the base”

3. Think about the base

The base decides what a dildo can do. A flared suction-cup base sticks to smooth surfaces for hands-free play and works with most harnesses; a plain base is fine for handheld use. For anal use, a flared base is essential so it stays safely in place.

  • Suction-cup base = hands-free + harness-compatible
  • For anal play, only ever use a flared base
  • Check harness compatibility if pegging is the goal
